We've been up to our necks in revisionist history, profiling tyrants. Today we're taking a mental break, to discuss something fun on a much lighter note. Science-fiction, as a genre, has always appealed to libertarians because it shows how societies function under varying degrees of tyranny.
Ever since episode 9 of The Agora, Top 10 Libertarian Sci-Fi Books, I've wanted to cover libertarian themes in sci-fi movies. Since I'm much more of a reader myself, I invited an old friend of mine on the show to help us out. Angelo Depuma is a fellow libertarian and the biggest movie buff I know of, and in this episode, he breaks down the top 5 sci-fi movies with a libertarian theme.
Check out his list below:
4. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
3. The Matrix
